"Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.

Let's just do it! The poverty in this world is staggering. Let us not wait for others but lets play our part in responding to the situation.  That is basically what M K Sheriff Daniel from India is saying in his blog found at http://conversation.lausanne.org/en/resources/detail/10632. I like his quote from Mother Theresa ""Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person." But of course that is NOT a call to individualism because we must also do it together!

Encouraged

I was encouraged by a conversation earlier tonight when someone said to me that I had a gift to help others understand God's love for the poor and needy and to help them move out into a life of love and compassion for the poor and needy. I was encouraged because this is a great desire of mine and I believe it is an essential part of my calling.  I pray that I will be faithful to this calling and I pray that I will allow God to make me effective in this calling. I pray also that I will put in the effort that is necessary to make this calling effective!

Watch this spot!

Hi readers. This blogsite (FrPaulU) is my second one. The first is called Missionary Servants of God's Love For the Poor and can be found at http://frpaulumsglp.blogspot.com/2010/09/small-start.html).

This present blogsite is meant to be the personal one. Maybe I will also  include entries from the other blog here as well. I'm not yet sure.

Nor am I sure when I will get down to writing regular entries here. Anyway for now, before I go to bed, let me simply copy my entry from my other blogsite which I wrote about one hour ago: ;

Well, here we go I have finally put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, and started a blog. I hope that this will not be my only blog. This blog will be concerned with seeking to make God's love for the poor better known and to inspire, encourage, challenge and otherwise help people to themselves in some way to become "Missionary Servants of God's Love For the Poor". I hope to write on this blog frequently, but I don't promise to do so - in fact I suspect that I will have rather a slow and infrequent start. Time will tell. I also hope, at some stage, to start at least one more blog - a more personal one. However, time will also tell about that.

Anyway let me finish my first ever blog entry in my first ever blog with a short prayer:

"Lord Jesus touch our hearts, minds and wills so that we, like you, may be missionary servants of God's love for the poor. Amen"
